If you have online banking credentials or a mobile certificate and a trusted friend or relative you would like to handle matters on your behalf, you can authorise them using Suomi.fi e-Authorisations.
With the authorisation “Manage electronic messages”, you can allow someone else to read your incoming messages, send messages on your behalf and also stop the use of Suomi.fi Messages for you. Read more together in the Suomi.fi Messages instructions.
Please note that Suomi.fi Messages are not activated automatically or without your knowledge. The service is activated when you use an authority’s e-service with strong authentication and activate the service yourself during that process.
If you have previously activated Suomi.fi Messages but no longer have a strong authentication method, such as online banking credentials or a mobile certificate, or cannot use digital services for another reason, contact Advisory service on Suomi.fi services by phone (0295 000, weekdays 9 am–3 pm).

If you are a guardian or you've been given a continuing power of attorney by the other person, you can use electronic services on behalf of your client under certain conditions. Read more in the Suomi.fi Messages instructions.
If you are not a guardian or don't have a continuing power of attorney from the person you'd like to act on behalf of, you need a separate written mandate to handle another person’s matters. The authorisation must be dated, signed and specify:
who grants the authorisation (name and personal identity code)
who is authorised (name and personal identity code)
what the authorisation covers (for example, stopping the use of Suomi.fi Messages)
It is possible to request that any unread messages in the electronic mailbox are sent to the mailbox owner’s postal address registered in the Population Information System or to an email address found in the Suomi.fi Messages details as secure email. In addition to the authorisation, you must complete a form, which you can obtain from Advisory service on Suomi.fi services or from a service point of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
